UPTEC Concept

Innovative 3-in-1 system Designed to complete installations of different heights with one single product

Uptec is a universal, adjustable pedestal for outdoor raised floor installations, specifically indicated for 2 cm - 3/4” ceramic tile. Uptec launches the 3-in-1 revolution, 3 articles (3 base codes: SUPAL, SUPAS and SUPAR) in only one system. The three products work seamlessly with 3 accessories (3 codes: SUPA2, SUPA4 and SUPAW) designed for standard installations (2 mm - 3/32” and 4 mm - 5/32”tile joints) or for wood and aluminum joists. The rubber, interchangeable accessories guarantee a sound dampening, non-slip system. Uptec allows you to reach the desired floor height by simply adding SUPAR spacer rings; an ingenuous locking disc lets you easily change from a self-leveling head to a fixed head.   Simple mechanism to change from a self-leveling head to a fixed head.

Raised outdoor floor: how to make it?

The raised outdoor floors, also called floating or floating, are installed in equipped gardens, balconies, poolside, patios, porches and verandas. They consist of a flooring (stoneware, stone, wood, PVC) resting on a support structure consisting of pedestals, generally in polypropylene, resting on a sloping screed. The feet must be arranged at a constant distance between them and arranged in parallel rows; the dry floor must therefore be placed on top of them.We offer Uptec, a range of 3 in 1 supports, with which it is possible to create any type of raised floor using only 3 main elements. It is a modular system, very simple to use, in which just add / remove one more Ring to reach the desired height. The Uptec supports are also adjustable in height and can be used both in the self-leveling and fixed versions, simply by fixing the ring on the head of the foot. The system should be used in a self-leveling version to compensate for the slope of the substrate, saving time and thus obtaining a flat and stable walkable floor. On the head of the support there are fins that allow a homogeneous spacing between the slabs of the floor and thus facilitates the evacuation of rainwater.

Why a raised floor?
A raised floor, compared to a standard floor glued or simply placed on sand or gravel, therefore subject to movement, guarantees a series of advantages: · Light construction system · The work is performed dry so it does not get dirty · The laying can be performed in every season · Installation is quick and easy compared to a floor to be glued · If there is a breakage of a portion of the floor or if you decide to change it because it is no longer liked, the replacement operation is very simple · Low maintenance costs · The aesthetic result is far superior to other options as it allows you to choose more precious and particular flooring · The flooring can be walked on immediately · The floor is resistant to thermal changes, no cracks are formed because in the case due to thermal expansion, the material, since it is not fixed, has the possibility to move naturally · Efflorescence is avoided eu ascent midpoint · It is possible to create a technical compartment in the subfloor: manholes, pipes, cables · The subfloor can be inspected.

Advantages of UPTEC self-leveling version of the pedestal
The self-leveling version of the Uptec pedestal allows the installer to compensate up to a 5% slope in the substrate. In this way you can realize a perfectly leveled floor installation without having to insert spacers under the pedestals.

Whats the maximum installation height of pedestals for raised floors?
The Uptec Standard SUPAS pedestals (43mm – 58mm height) can be combined with one or more SUPAR rings that increase the total height by 30mm each. For very high installations, we recommend using the article SUPARX4 (120mm), called “big ring”, which is composed of 4 SUPAR rings already preassembled. The maximum height tested (with a maximum load capacity of 14kN) is 22 stacked SUPAR rings (total height of 71.80 cm). The construction site manager should contact us to verify the installation dimensions for applications higher than 30 cm.

FAQ - Can a raised floor installed with Uptec pedestals withstand car passage?

Can a raised floor installed with Uptec pedestals withstand car passage?

Raised floors cannot withstand car passage. One of the advantages of this system is, in fact, the possibility of carrying out a dry tile installation without the use of adhesive and allowing for the future removal of the structure. This type of installation has optimal resistance to static loads (Uptec resistance to point loads = 14kN), but the components are not connected to each other, so the wheels of a vehicle which cause friction across the tile surface could collapse the structure.

FAQ - Choosing SUPA2 or SUPA4

How do I choose between an Uptec head with a 2mm or 4mm gap?
Choosing between a head with a 2mm (SUPA2) or a 4mm (SUPA4) gap is mainly aesthetically driven (taking into consideration that in outdoor installations a wider joint between the tiles is not as evident as in indoor installations). The advantage of using a head with a 4mm gap is being able to do the final height adjustments using the SUPAK tool, even after the floor is installed, without having to remove any pieces. In addition, the 4mm head can also be used with installations containing aluminum joists.
